Schwenckfeld Manor is an affordable, independent living retirement community located in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Life at the Manor means many things including:
- Independence
At Schwenckfeld Manor you have the freedom to live life and care for yourself as you choose. You are welcome to contract with outside service providers for meals, housekeeping and medical care in the comfort of your own home.
- Affordability
There is no such thing as a fixed monthly rent at Schwenckfeld Manor. Your rent is based on your ability to pay and evaluated annually. The federal government provides the balance of the fair market value in the form of a rent subsidy, so you’ll never pay more than you can afford.
- Privacy
Both the efficiency and one-bedroom apartments allow you to cook, bathe, relax and even entertain in the comfort of your own home. Apartments, storage areas and mailboxes are locked and staff will only enter your apartment with your consent or in case of emergency.
- Peace of Mind
You have very little to worry about at Schwenckfeld Manor. The staff takes care of maintenance and landscaping, including snow removal. Each apartment is equipped with emergency response and sprinkler systems. And the things that you need most like banking, laundry, fitness facilities and transportation are provided on-site.
- Possibilities
There’s much you can do at Schwenckfeld Manor. With activities, classes, religious services, special events, groups, dinners, entertainment and bus trips, you’ll always have something to choose from.
SERVICES AND AMENITIES
You will find our apartments to be a comfortable and convenient place to call home. Each apartment contains a range stove, refrigerator, sprinkler system and emergency call system. Apartments with handicap accessible features such as roll-in showers and modified kitchen counters are available. Your monthly rent includes all utilities except telephone and cable.
All of our three buildings are interconnected via indoor walkways and each building has elevators servicing every floor. Each floor has a centrally located laundry area, with multiple coin-operated washers and dryers.
And you will find many amenities right on site for your convenience.

Schwenckfeld Manor offers both efficiency and one-bedroom apartments.
POLICIES
Residency Requirements
To qualify for residency at Schwenckfeld Manor, you must be at least 62 years of age or older and/or require the accessibility features of a handicapped apartment. You must be able to maintain a clean and orderly apartment. And your present income must not exceed limits set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Non-Discriminatory Policy
Schwenckfeld Manor is an equal opportunity housing development. Residents will be accepted irrespective of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, familial status or age, unless required by program rules.
Pet Policy
Pets are welcome at Schwenckfeld Manor. However, the following restrictions apply. The number of pets per apartment may not exceed (1) dog or (1) cat (weighing less than 20 pounds), (1) guinea pig, (2) birds or (1) fish tank (not exceeding 30 gallons). Pets must be housebroken, vaccinated and partially declawed (in the case of cats). A security deposit of $300 is required to have a pet and the pet is completely the responsibility of the resident.
