FIVE LEVELS OF SERVICE

Independent Living

The choice for active seniors who want both comfort and convenience, without the isolation of living alone or the worries of home ownership. Included in your daily rental fee:

- 3 nutritious and tasty meals a day
- Weekly housekeeping services

- Access to free washers & dryers for personal items
- Free transportation to scheduled doctors' offices
- Call system in each apartment to summon help
- Staff on duty 24 hours/day

Personal Care

The choice for active seniors who need some regular personal assistance, but desire to be as self-reliant as possible. Included in your daily personal care rental fee are all the amenities of Independent Living plus:

- Personal laundry services
- Nursing assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing as needed (up to 1 hour/day)
- Medication assistance services
- Daily housekeeping services as needed

Special Services

Ideal for persons with physical challenges that require an enhanced level of attention or rehabilitative support. Included in your daily rental fee are all the amenities of Personal Care plus:

- Assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing as needed (up to 2 hours/day)

Dementia Services - Shepherd Unit

RELIGIOUS PROGRAMS

Spiritual growth is the key to a meaningful life. All four of our active adult retirement communities have on-site chapels which provide comfortable venues for a wide variety of religious services and activities. Throughout the year, residents enjoy church services, gospel music and Bible study as well as Christian and Jewish holiday programs.

Our program is ecumenically-based, with services of many faiths represented. We also retain the services of a chaplain on every campus and welcome all local clergy to participate in our program schedule. The chaplain is available as a visitor, counselor and friend to those who may not be affiliated with a specific church. On Sabbath days, we help arrange for or provide transportation to several local churches, so residents may continue their regular church affiliation.


NUTRITION/FOOD SERVICE

Good nutrition is essential to good health as well as an opportunity for daily social contact.

At Providence Place Retirement Communities, we serve up variety and choice... buffet-style. We encourage good nutrition by presenting well-balanced meals, freshly prepared in our own kitchens. Tasty and attractively presented meals encourage good eating habits.

At all meals, we provide you with choices of entrees, sides and, of course, dessert. A fully-stocked dessert cart with multiple diabetic selections is always available. Menu suggestions are always welcome and encouraged through participation in our regularly-scheduled "Food Court Committee" meetings.

We also have many fun dining events like Ethnic days, Holiday fare, fine carved meats, picnics and more.

If you have family and friends stopping by, they are always welcome to join you in the dining room.


WELLNESS PROGRAMS

Stimulation of body, mind and spirit is key to an enjoyable and interesting life.

Providence Place campus settings are designed to create opportunities for healthful outside activities. We have walking paths with benches, gazebos and pavilions to encourage residents to enjoy the sun and fresh air. Exercise equipment is available for use under the supervision of a staff member.

We schedule featured "expert" speakers to make presentations on topics of interest. Many of these presentations are focused on health-related topics, but we also offer sessions on legal or financial matters, personal skills, hobbies, current events or other interesting and timely subjects. We are always open to suggestions on topics of interest to residents and their families.


REHABILITATION SERVICES

Appalachian Rehabilitation Inc., a Medicare-eligible therapy company, provides therapy services including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy on-site in their own "therapy room". No need to travel off-site for your therapy appointments.

In compliance with your physician's orders, each individual is evaluated by the Appalachian therapy team and given a customized, goal-oriented treatment plan. The team then provides education and training to the resident and family members to facilitate the "transition" back home as part of the Transitions Program.

Utilizing a comprehensive, interdisciplinary team approach, the therapists provide each resident the opportunity to maximize functional potential and enhance their level of self-reliance.


TRANSPORTATION

We help our residents get where they need to go!

All of our Providence Place campuses are located on public transportation "loops" so that residents can have easy access to local malls, downtown shopping and community facilities.

We provide free transportation to scheduled local doctors' office visits.

If you own and operate your own automobile, we offer free, convenient parking.

Each Providence Place Retirement Community has a comfortable, 14-passenger bus (handicapped accessible) for scheduled group trips. Whatever the planned excursion — to a restaurant, shopping mall or a specific local event — we want you to be able to get there "hassle free" and enjoy your jaunt worry-free!
